Resonance The term 'resonance' is derived from the Latin word 'resono' meaning 'resound'. If a body is actuated near its eigen-frequency, it starts oscillating after a single impulse – if the damping is neglected. Depending on the value of the damping, the body reacts to this stimulation with particulary large amplitudes, which is called resonance. |
